A letter to our community,
Recently a safety service director of a city announced, a couple of city workers had been stuck with used needles carelessly left in the trash. As he mentioned adamantly that is a couple too many. The workers were accidentally stuck with a needle while picking up the trash. The workers were extremely lucky that they didn’t contract any disease.
These incidents cost the city well over $16,000 in medical testing and time off. As well as costing the employees the anxiety and wonder if they had contracted a disease from these used needles. They were dedicated city employees, serving their community. The homeowners were also liable for fines and medical costs as well as punitive damages.
